Support for Kinect 2, improved tracking speed and accuracy Systems consist of iPi Recorder, a free software package for capturing and playing back footage and iPi Mocap Studio, a commercial package for processing the recordings, available in a range of editions. Data processing is done offline, with data exportable in FBX and BVH formats. The tools provide independent studios with low-cost full-body mocap systems based around the Kinect and Sony’s PlayStation 3 Eye camera. IPi Soft has released iPi Motion Capture 3.0, the latest update to its range of markerless motion-capture systems, adding support for the Kinect 2 sensor, and introducing a new subscription-based payment model. Version 3.0 of the product line has just shipped, adding support for the Kinect 2 sensor and introducing new rental pricing. *Unfortunately this program is not a real time program which would not be adequate for my final piece.IPi Soft’s demo for its Kinect and PS3 Eye-based markerless motion-capture systems. Again, capture is not limited to just Sony PS Eye cameras with this program. It supports capture with 1 or 2 depth sensors or 3 to 4 Sony PS Eye cameras (IPi Soft). The basic edition itself costs $416.5USD (after a 30% student discount) and includes all basic features needed for high-accuracy motion capture. The express edition for IPi Soft costs $206.5USD (after a 30% student discount). It can be compatible with other cameras as well, though this is just an example of a Tier 1 option.
IPi Soft is also compatible with other programs like Poser, Cinema 4D, Maya or MotionBuilder. It supports capture with 2 depth sensors or 3-8 Sony PS Eye Cameras (IPi Soft). IPi Soft has a standard edition for $1,046.5USD (after a 30% student discount), which includes all high-end features including multiple persons tracking. IPi Soft does make Tier 2 software however its Tier 1 software includes more features.
